Call for expression of interest for the provision of consultancy services to develop the NGO Alternative Report on the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the two Optional Protocols in Uganda

Uganda Child Rights NGO Network (UCRNN) is a coalition of 150 child focused organizations including community based, national and International organizations working for the welfare and rights of children in Uganda. Established in 1997 to spearhead the writing of the NGO Alternative Report to the United Nations Committee of Experts on the Rights of the Child, to date the Network has presented five CSO Alternative Reports to different treaty bodies and has been involved in generating other country monitoring reports including the Global Monitoring reports.

In accordance with the Arti cle 45 of the United Nati ons Conventi on on the Rights Child (UNCRC), that expressly makes provision for the role of NGOs in the reporti ng process, UCRNN intends to submit the NGO Alternati ve Report on the implementati on of the UNCRC and its Opti onal Protocols (OPSC) in Uganda. UCRNN is therefore looking for an experienced consultancy firm to facilitate the development of the Alternative Report and now invites eligible consultancy firms to submit expressions of interest. The fi rm must have a multi -disciplinary team with expertise in child rights/human rights, undertaking evaluative assessments of legal and policy frameworks in relati on to children and broadly on the situati on of children. Previous experience in producing alternative reports on child rights and other human rights instruments, and experience in carrying out consultative research and working with multiple stakeholder groups including with children is important.
